The Seed Plan Program has over 80 years of gardening experience. What we do is once you have made up your mind that you want to grow a garden is support your garden dreams. We make it easier for you to get your garden growing by being your muscles.

  1. We sit with you and get your dreams down in the garden blue print out of your head.

  2. We set a day aside for the digging of the garden.

  3. We transplant the plants you order from us into your garden.

  4. We give you a watering and feeding schedule.

  5. We check in on your garden three times before harvest. Sometimes you might call us to check on the progress and sometimes it might be to answer any questions you may have.

  6. We do not want you to fail. So we have videos to watch to understand the plant you are growing. We incorporate other gardeners sharing this information through YouTube to show our support for them.

  7. We will help you collect seeds, pick your harvest and share how to store it and or share it. The choice is always yours. We will continue to share information of growing our own food, harvesting our own food and storing our own food.

  8. Finally, We will share recipes, and other ways to create meals with the food you have grown. We will share the crafts that are created with the flowers you have grown. We will share how to make the tinctures and salves and how to use them.

People & Culture Gardening in Canada

Gardens have always been a reflection of people, traditions, creativity, and the connection we share with the natural world. With The Seed Plan, we welcome gardeners of all backgrounds and experiences to explore the many possibilities of growing food, flowers, herbs, and plants that bring beauty, nourishment, and meaning into everyday life in Canada. From familiar backyard favorites like tomatoes, lettuce, corn, and beans to unique vegetables, culinary herbs, native plants, and pollinator-friendly flowers, we encourage curiosity and experimentation.

The Seed Plan is open to growing a wide variety of plants, with the understanding that each plant has its own needs and must be suited to our local growing conditions. Living in hardiness zones 5–6 provides a wonderful range of opportunities, allowing gardeners to grow many annual crops and a diverse selection of perennials while respecting the natural limits of climate, seasons, and plant adaptability. Our garden philosophy celebrates learning, sharing, and discovering what can thrive when people and plants grow together.
